Thallus yellowish to olive-green, lacking pseudocyphellae, corticate. Ascomata solitary, conical, erumpent from the substratum, the sides often partly covered by the thallus, c.
0.5–0.8 mm diam. Ascomatal wall lacking crystals, to 100 μm thick; ostiole apical, pale. Hamathecium inspersed with oil droplets, IKI+ blue. Ascospores 8 per ascus, irregularly biseriate, 3-septate, ellipsoidal, with pointed to acuminate ends, dark brown, 16–24 ´ 8–13 μm; lumina angular; terminal lumina not separated from the exospore, often seemingly protruding and giving the ascospores a citriform shape. CHEMISTRY: No substances detected. |

Common in south-western W.A., northern N.T., Qld, N.S.W., Vic. and Tas.; also on Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island. Palaeotropical, subtropical and temperate, especially common in upland forest. | ||
